Robotic teams from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications at Shahid Beheshti University secured two first-place titles at the 20th Iran Open International RoboCup (Iran Open 2026), earning qualification for the RoboCup World Championship.
According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University, the University’s robotic teams, comprising the Auriga AV Autonomous Vehicle Team and the Auriga@Work Service Robot Team, won first place in their respective categories at the 20th Iran Open International RoboCup, securing their qualification for the RoboCup World Championship.
The robotic teams from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Shahid Beheshti University are supervised by Dr. Mohammad-Hossein Moayeri, a faculty member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
The members of Shahid Beheshti University’s robotic teams are Mandana Shabanzadeh Nasrallabadi, Sahba Bani-Sabour, Maria Sabouri Doudaran, Yeganeh Rahmati, Yekta Ebrahimi Meymand, Amirkiar Ashouri Shokri Damouchali, Ali Kazemi, Mobin Asgari Nadoushan, Radin Valavi, Amirreza Ramesh, Seyed Shayan Setayandeh, Aria Dadanavi, Yousef Ashrafi, and Omid Darzi.
RoboCup: A Platform for Competition and the Development of Intelligent Technologies
RoboCup, or the Robot World Cup, is an international project aimed at advancing knowledge and research in robotics and artificial intelligence. Through the development of standardized and competitive challenges, the RoboCup Federation provides a platform for advancing emerging technologies, evaluating the capabilities of intelligent robots, and promoting research in artificial intelligence.
The 20th Iran Open International RoboCup was held from September 16 to 18, 2026, with the participation of more than 2,000 participants.
