
The robotics teams from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Communications) at Shahid Beheshti University achieved first place in two leagues — Autonomous Vehicle and @Work Service Robot — at the 19th IranOpen RoboCup 2025 International Competitions.
According to the Public Relations Office of the university, the university's robotics teams, comprising Auriga AV (Autonomous Vehicle) and Auriga @Work (Service Robot at Work), secured first place and earned qualification to participate in the RoboCup 2025 World Championships in Brazil.
The teams are supervised by Dr. Mohammad-Hossein Moayeri, faculty member of the School of Electrical Engineering.
RoboCup, often referred to as the World Cup of Robotics, is an international initiative aimed at promoting advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics. The RoboCup Federation seeks to foster AI and intelligent robotics research by proposing standardized challenges that encompass a wide range of existing technologies.
The 19th IranOpen RoboCup 2025 was held from April 20 to 22, 2025, at Tehran’s International Permanent Fairground, attracting over 360 teams from Iran and abroad.
